NNAUSA DONATES TO THE HAITI RELIEF FUND

The Ngwa National Association, USA (NNAUSA) Inc. has donated the sum of Six thousand, five hundred ($6,500.00) to the Haiti Relief Program through the American Red Cross Society.  NNAUSA’s donation is geared towards supporting relief efforts for victims of the January 12, 2010 7.0 earthquake that devastated the nation of Haiti.  While presenting the check, the NNAUSA President, Dr. Elelenta Nwambuisi Elele, stated that NNAUSA, as a non-profit organization, stood solidly behind all the families that were impacted by the natural disaster. He stated that the Association shall continue to show its concern and goodwill to the nation and people of Haiti who are still living in miserable conditions following the disaster.

It would be recalled that the NNAUSA President established a mechanism, following the Haiti earthquake, through which NNAUSA members could support the Haiti nation through a concerted effort of our organization. Our members generously responded to the President’s call through their individual and collective donations. President Elele wishes to thank all those that contributed to the relief fund that made our donation possible. In particular, the President expresses his gratitude to our Association’s Vice President, Dr (Mrs) Stella kamalu for her extraordinary hardwork in coordinating NNAUSA’s Haiti Relief Fund and ensuring its success. The President also extends his appreciation to the Association’s Financial Secretary, Mr. Gabe Nwandu, for the exemplary documentation and accounting of the Fund.

It is important to remember that the need in Haiti is still dire even as they battle to ensure more efficient distribution and utilization of the donated resources.  We are therefore using this opportunity to remind all those who pledged but have not find time to redeem their pledge towards the relief program that they can still do so. Those who did not pledge but wish to donate can still contact NNAUSA’s Financial Secretary.  There is also a moral expectation and obligation that individuals or groups that generated donations dedicated to the Haiti Cause ensure that the raised funds are ultimately committed to their intended use.

Once more, accept the gratitude of the NNAUSA President and the entire NNAUSA Executive for answering the call to become your brothers/sisters
keepers.
