In the spirit of the Eid el- Kabir celebration, the ruling people's Democratic Party, PDP, has urged Nigerians to sustain their sacrifice, patriotism and loyalty as the nation is at the threshold of transformation.

The party, in its message to mark the celebration, further called on Nigerians to join hands with President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua towards a steady march to greatness.

In signed press release by the national publicity secretary, Prof Rufai Alkali, yesterday, the party stressed that the season is one of love and as such, issues that have a tendency of dividing the nation should not be dwelt on.

"We are happy to observe that Nigeria is at the threshold of a great transformation and this momentum requires the patriotism, loyalty and sacrifice of all citizens to be sustained. This occassion, therefore, offers a unique opportunity to show and share love with one another and not to dwell on issues that have a tendency to divide us.

“This celebration, which places emphasis on the virtues of complete submission and sacrifice once again reminds all of us of our duties to the Almighty God and our dear country Nigeria."

The statement continues: "On this special occasion, our great party, the PDP, invites all Nigerians to join hands with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar' Adua (GCFR) in our steady march to greatness.

“The National Chairman of our  party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor , on behalf of the National Working Committee felicitates with our Muslim brothers and sisters and all Nigerians as we celebrate Eid el-Kabir, the great feast of sacrifice.  We wish all Nigerians a peaceful and Joyful celebration".
