AMAC: Gwagwa Campaign Organisation Launches Fund-raising Print E-mail

The Hon. Suleiman Alhasan Campaign Organisation on Wednesday launched a fund-raising dinner at Nicon Hilton Hotel, Abuja aimed at sourcing for funds for the successful prosecution of Hon. Gwagwa aspiration to emerge as the AMAC chairmanship candidate in the PDP primary election slated for  November 21, 2009.

Organized by the Chairman, Finance Committee of the organisation, Hon. Emmanuel Opama, the fund-raising dinner was attended by top People’s Democratic Party, PDP stalwarts, including Senator Sidi AIi, Hon. Philip Aduda, the chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC Hon. Zhafaniya Jisalo and other PDP stalwarts.

In his opening speech, the chairman of the occasion, Pham Peter Ikani Momoh, a PDP top notcher, argued PDP members especially delegates of AMAC for their support and to become part of the new change that is about to take place in AMAC when Hon. Gwagwa will eventually emerge as the party's candidate in the primary election of November 21.

Momoh emphasized that Abuja Municipal Area Council needs a young, dynamic and resourceful personality like Gwagwa who can provide the dividends of democracy bearing in mind his pre-requisites.

In the same vain, the chief launcher of the fund-raising, Dr. Aboke Zhain, a retired Permanent Secretary, who is also strong contender for the FCT Senatorial seat said, Hon. Gwagwa is a tested aspirant who is committed to the service of the people.

He therefore urged all PDP members in the FCT to donate generously for the successful execution of the project.

Similarly, in his good will massage, the Executive Chairman, Kuje Area Council, Hon. Danladi Zhain assured of the support of all serving council chairmen in the FCT for the Gwagwa AMAC 2010. He also solicited all stakeholders to contribute generously so as to enhance the eventual emergence of Hon. Suleiman Gwagwa as the Executive Chairman of AMAC.

At the end of the launching, Alh. Yahaya Gwagwa, on behalf of the family, thanked the people for their support and said that funds realized at the occasion will be judiciously expended for the successful prosecution of the project.

Meanwhile, the campaign organization has totality condemned the false alarm by some unidentified aspirants contesting the position of AMAC chairmanship 2010.

The campaign organisation also condemned the purported call on the Hon. Minister of FCT, Senator Adamu Aliero, alleging imposition of aspirant by the state chairman.

The campaign organization refuted and dismissed the allegation that the 2010 AMAC PDP primary election will be characterized by crisis as diversionary.

Alhaji Musa Talle who is the director-general of the campaign organisation condemned the idea of using the media to heat the political environment.

Speaking through the publicity secretary of the organisation, Prince Ishaka Musa, Talle advised those who published the falsehood in LEADERSHIP Newspaper of November 18, 2009 to use more realistic and workable approach to convince the electorate, rather than embarking on cheap publicity and blackmail with the purpose to drag the party backwards.

The director-general explained explicitly that Hon. Suleiman Alh Alhassan Gwagwa has all the constitutional rights to aspire for any political position in the country. He also reiterated that no section of the constitution of PDP stops Hon. Suleiman from contesting for AMAC Chairmanship.
